Kenneth L. Hilsen, DDS, F.I.C.D.
Prosthodontist

Dr. Hilsen received his D.D.S. degree from New York University, College of Dentistry. He completed his Prosthodontic specialty training in a combined 3 year program at the New York Veterans Administration Hospital and New York University.

Dr. Hilsen served as Clinical Professor at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Assistant Professor at N.Y.U. Dr. Hilsen is presently a member of the credentialed staff at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck and a consultant to numerous sleep centers in the New York and New Jersey area. Dr. Hilsen has three patents on his anti-snoring devices and lectures nationally on snoring and sleep apnea.

Although there are many dental organizations that Dr. Hilsen holds membership in, there are two dental organizations that are honorary and require nomination and acceptance by his dental peers. Dr. Hilsen was elected a member of the International College of Dentists "the honorary dental organization dedicated to the recognition of outstanding professional achievement and meritorious service". He also has been elected to the American College of Dentists whose mission is to promote excellence, ethics, and professionalism in dentistry.

Dr. Hilsen is active in many state and national professional organizations including serving as President of the American College of Prosthodontists - New Jersey Section. He was elected to the National Board of Directors of the American College of Prosthodontists and directed the Private Practice Division and the Public and Professional Relations Division. He also chaired the Committee on TMD, and the Committee on Sleep Disordered Breathing. He is a charter member and past president of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Sleep Society. He is a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Hilsen is a pioneer in dental implants and is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the national specialty implant group. Dr. Hilsen actively works with, one of the leaders in the field of implant dentistry.

Dr. Hilsen has been chosen by the Consumer's Research Council of America for the list of top dentists throughout the United States. This Council uses the criteria of training, experience, and dedication to the professional associations to name a dentist to their list.

Dr. Hilsen founded and served as the Director of the Center for Prosthodontic Education, the continuing education center for the American College of Prosthodontists. This center offers continuing education courses resource to both general dentists and prosthodontists all over the country.

Prosthodontics and Periodontics

Dr. Gorloff Ridgewood cosmetic dentistry

Dr. Joung is one of only a handful of dentists in the country to be trained in two dental specialties; both Prosthodontics and Periodontics. His training provides him with a unique perspective in optimizing your oral health care both functionally and esthetically. Dr. Joung received his Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree, D.M.D., from the University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to the University of Connecticut to obtain certificates in both Prosthodontics and Periodontics, in a 5-year combined program. Here he was awarded recognition for excellence by the American College of Prosthodontists.

Periodontics is that specialty of dentistry which encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth or their substitutes and the maintenance of the health, function and esthetics of these structures and tissues.

Prosthodontics is the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.

Dr. Joung brings his knowledge and skill in both the prosthetic and surgical aspects of teeth and implants. He can utilize the latest technological advancements in implant dentistry to recreate your smile. He is an active member of both the American College of Prosthodontists and the American Academy of Periodontology.

Vera Gorloff, DMD

Dr. Gorloff received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She graduated in the top of her class and was elected to the prestigious Omega Kappa Epsilon Honor Dental Society. Dr. Gorloff then completed a dental residency at the Mountainside Hospital in Montclair.

Dr. Gorloff is a current member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Gorloff maintains a private practice in New York in addition to joining us at Ridgewood Dental Associates. She is married, has two boys, lives locally and is strongly involved in local community affairs.

Min-Hee Cho, DMD
General Dentist

Dr. Cho is originally from California, where she went to the University of California, Berkeley to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in molecular and cell biology. She then went on to the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree, D.M.D. Dr. Cho then completed a general practice residency at St. Mary’s Hospital, an affiliated hospital of the Yale University School of Medicine, in Waterbury, CT. She has been in practice in Connecticut for the past 4 years before coming here to RDA.

Dr. Cho is a member of the American Dental Association and is continually taking continuing education courses to stay abreast with the latest dentistry has to offer. She is a caring and compassionate dentist
